Don't study, just sue

http://www.newser.com/story/162696/lehigh-student-sues-over-grade.html

I read the most ridiculous about a girl, Megan Thode, who got a C-grade and proceeded to sue the college for loss of her future career. I am guessing that she was average at best but her parents (trying to build her self-esteem) probably made her believe that she was excelling beyond belief. Then she goes to college. The professors are not there to coddle the students but hopefully turn them into well-educated, responsible adults.

Looks like she could not cut it. And now she is looking for someone to blame (isn't that always the case?).

Maybe she needs to pick an easier field of study if the classwork was too difficult for her to grasp in order to turn in A or B caliber work. Or maybe she should have spent less time playing and goofing off instead of studying. That might have worked in high school, but college work requires effort.

I remember when I was in high school and we had a pop quiz, I passed. No studying or effort needed. I tried that same thing in college, I got a D on the pop quiz. That woke me up! Crap! I need to review the assigned readings. I got my act together, studied like I needed, and I graduated with honors. And by the time I got to graduate school, I knew what it meant to have little social life because I was doing in depth research and writing papers. One professor told us that our research papers should demonstrate that we understand the principles and concepts from class and assigned readings without just providing a summary of what was discussed. It was not a jumble of synonyms from words to rehash the assigned reading without plagiarizing.

I have no pity for this girl and I hope she is laughed out the classroom. She fails to realize that your grade is based on the quality of work that YOU turn in to the professor. If you turn in mediocre work, you get average grades.

And yea, I graduated with honors with my MBA too.
