Viva Las Vegas

A few weeks ago, I went to Las Vegas. It was cool. I have been before, so it was not like I was innocent to the city. I went to a lot of different hotels/casinos this time. And I still did not get to go into all the ones that I wanted to visit. Below is a list of where I went...

  • San Remo (will be changing its name to Hooters…I don’t know how that is going to work out) – home base
  • Tropicana – Airplay show. They were some tropeze-type acts. They were flying high. One of the duos was a couple of guys. They had thier legs entertwined and holding hands. All I could think was that it is hard for them to maintain their masculinity while doing that stunt. And there was a girl doing tricks with several hula hoops. I guess that was cool.
  • MGM – we saw the lions in their exhibit. Sleeping lions. They looked like they were out of touch with real wild life. We also took the monorail from here.
  • Mandalay Bay - We saw an oldies band. I gave them 3 out of 5. The show was somewhat amusing
  • Excalibur – Unless you go for the “knights and ladies” theme, you will not care to go here. Well that is the way that I felt.
  • New York New York – I saw a chick band here in the bar. They were so-so. Nothing special about them. I gave them 2 out of 5. If I had paid for that show I would have wanted my money back. I realized from their performance why they were the free entertainment in the bar where people were paying money for drinks that could be ordered free outside in the casino. What was that all about?!?
  • Caesar’s Palace – two words ANCIENT ROME...
  • Venitian – two words COOL CANALS...
  • Sahara – There was a Wayne Newton look alike at the free show. But he looked so much like WN, it was good enough for me. It is not like I am a big WN fan.
  • Stratosphere – I wanted to eat in the Top of the World restaurant. I was looking for the elevator to get to the top and they charge admission to use the elevator. Admission was like $15! I was like "Forget that". So I stayed at ground level. I was a little disappointed because I was not going to see the view. But I was not feeling like paying $15.
  • Harrah's - nothing to see
  • Ballys - nothing to see
  • Casino Royale - I got my 2-for-1 margaritas and after that there was .....nothing left to see
